• How PHEV deployment will impact demand for electricity and electricity providers' ability to meet that demand.
• How to promote the concept of off-peak charging to vehicle owners.
• How the electric system can recognize when power is being used to charge the PHEV.
• How electric utilities may be able to use "spent" batteries as energy storage devices along the electrical system. Vehicle batteries that no longer can provide efficient and reliable transportation typically still retain around 70 percent of their original charge-carrying capacity which may be useful for supporting electric system reliability.
• What role electric utilities will take in the development and operation of public charging station infrastructure.
• How drivers respond to PHEV features and requirements.
